Since our last update, some national days have gained popularity whereas others seem to have stalled. National Cat Day was overtaken by World Mental Health Day, which is now our new number 1 on this list. A surprise was also International Coffee Day and World Animal Day both overtaking National Coming Out Day on Instagram. Finally, World Food Day has gotten much bigger, overtaking both Spirit Day and World Smile Day and gaining tens of thousands of posts since last year.

The popularity of the holidays listed below is determined by how often their main hashtag was used on Instagram. Please note that this count is exclusive to Instagram and does not factor in other platforms. The information is current as of November 25, 2025.
