National Give Kids a Smile Day* (First Friday in February): Launched nationally in 2003, this program provides free dental care to underserved children across the U.S. Organized by the American Dental Association, thousands of dental professionals volunteer their time to offer oral health screenings, cleanings, and education to improve children’s access to dental care.

National Wear Red Day* (First Friday in February): Established in 2004 by the American Heart Association, this day highlights heart disease as the leading cause of death among women. People wear red to raise awareness and support initiatives aimed at preventing cardiovascular disease through education and research.

National Woman’s Heart Day* (First Friday in February): Created in 2001 with the support of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Sister to Sister Foundation, this day raises awareness about heart disease in women. It aims to educate women about their unique risk factors, encourage heart-healthy habits, and promote screenings for early detection.

National Periodic Table Day: Celebrating the publication of the first table of elements on February 7, 1863, this day honors the evolution of chemistry’s most famous tool. Founded in 2016 by chemistry teacher David T. Steineker, it recognizes the scientific breakthroughs that have shaped our understanding of the elements.
