This day honors the work and dedication of physicians across Canada, whereas National Doctor’s Day is celebrated every year on the 30th of March in the United States.
It was first officially recognized in 2018, and the date was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Emily Stowe, the first female physician to practice in Canada. The day is an opportunity to appreciate and acknowledge the vital role doctors play in providing healthcare and supporting the well-being of Canadians.
