List of Canva Font Pairings for 2023

To help others save time and find the best Canva font pairings, I have compiled a list of 20 stylish Canva font pairings that looks awesome together. The font pairings here are powerful, but elegant. Some are even a bit of fun. I think it’s safe to say that there is something for everyone here. These font pairings will look great in:

  • Instagram posts/ads
  • Facebook posts/ads
  • Pinterest pins
  • Logos
  • Posters
  • Flyers
  • Invitations
  • Infographics
  • Book covers
  • Birthday and other cards
  • Youtube channel art
  • Podcast covers
  • Banners
  • etc.

The following fonts can all be found on Canva. Most of these fonts are included in the free version, but I have also included some really amazing Canva Pro fonts.

#1 Mont Bold + Humble Hearts (CANVA PRO)

Both Mont Bold and Humble Hearts are Canva Pro-only fonts. The combination is one of my absolute favorite ones and if you follow me on Twitter, you will have seen me use this combo a few times 🙂 Use Humble Hearts with the “Neon” Text Effect for a realistic neon light display effect.

#2 Kollektif + Roboto

Kollektif and Roboto are both free and look really fantastic when placed together.

#3 Chewy + League Spartan

One of the more fun fonts out there, Chewy is perfect for projects that aren’t very “corporate” to their nature. Combining Chewy with the more modern and elegant League Spartan is an eye-catching and artistic combination. Both Chewy and League Spartan are found in the free version of Canva.

#4 Sacramento + Montserrat Classic

Despite looking quite different from the Chewy & League Spartan combo, the logic is the same: you combine a playful font with a more serious-looking one. In my opinion, Sacramento is one of the best handwriting fonts on Canva –highly recommended! Both fonts are available in Canva for free.

#5 Playlist Script + Hussar Ekologicsy

Combining the popular, hand-written Playlist Script with the hollow Hussar Ekologicsy is a move you won’t regret. These two free fonts look great together. An impressive font combination that could work for numerous products.

#6 Fredoka One + Glacial Indifference

Two more free fonts that stand out from the masses. Glacial Indifference is one of my go-to fonts: it makes any design cool and stylish. It feels very modern. Fredoka One, on the other hand, is a very welcoming font: warm and round. The contrast between these two fonts is what makes this font pairing work so well.

#7 Playlist Script + Hussar Bold

Again, two free fonts that everyone can enjoy 🙂 Playlist Script is such a modern-day classic that it is paired with a couple of different fonts in my list. After all, you can’t have too much of a good thing, can you? I really enjoy both Hussar fonts included in Canva and I expect them much more in the future. For the time being, they still seem like a well-kept industry secret but I am sure that it’s about to change soon.

#8 Brusher + Quicksand

A stunning combination that I find incredibly pleasing. Quicksand is another one of my favorite fonts: warm and welcoming. The only downside is that it doesn’t have an italics version, so it is not suitable for body text. While Quicksand has become rather famous lately, the good-looking Brusher is less known. If you want a legible hand-written font, give Brusher a try!

#9 League Spartan + Sanchez

Combining a Serif font with a Sans Serif font makes for an elegant combination, don’t you think? League Spartan and Sanchez are both available in the free version of Canva. Sanchez has an italics and an underlined version but lacks a bold version. League Spartan only has an underlined version in addition to the regular font.

#10 Oswald + Montserrat

What makes this Oswald + Montserrat combination work is the fact that Oswald is a narrow font, whereas the letter spacing in Montserrat is wider. This pairing is very attractive and effective and is suitable for logos, posters, Pinterest pins etc.

#11 League Spartan + Cooper Hewitt

This combination of two sans serifs is not as striking as the League Spartan + Sanchez combo. Instead, this is a more harmonious and enjoyable font pairing. Cooper Hewitt has a very contemporary feel. The bold version of Cooper Hewitt is surprisingly thick and makes quite a statement. Perfect for posters.

#12 Lemonada Semi Bold + Open Sans Hebrew Bold

The playful Lemonada Semi Bold is a great match for the classic elegance of Open Sans Hebrew Bold. Available in the free version of Canva. This font pairing can be used in a variety of designs, including presentations, posters and social media posts (Instagram stories etc.)

#13 League Gothic + Selima

You can’t go wrong with League Gothic. When designing posters and presentations for an organization, or creating Instagram or Pinterest graphics, designers often want to combine handwritten fonts with typed ones. The effect is elegant and often appeals to a female audience. Selima is a fantastic handwritten font that is both chic and legible.

#14 Dancing Script + Abhaya Libre Regular

If you want to combine a classic Serif with a beautiful script font, give this combo a try. Both Dancing Script and Abhaya Libre Regular are found in Canva for free.

#15 Aleo + Peace Sans

Combine the thick Peace Sans with the regular Serif font Aleo when you want your design to ooze grace and style. Neither font requires a Canva Pro subscription.

#16 Playlist Script + Trocchi

Another script-meets-serif combination that works for flyers, invitation, posters, banners…I could go on. Free, of course.

#17 Pony Club + Montserrat

Pony Club is not always the most legible calligraphy font, but this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t give it a try. The contrast between Pony Club and Montserrat is what makes this pairing so glamorous.

#18 Playfair Display + Playfair Display Black

This font pairing is perhaps a bit obvious, but so what — it works! Despite both being Playfair Display fonts, there is enough difference there to give that much-needed variation that makes the font pairing eye-catching. Did I already say that these are free fonts?

#19 Six Caps + League Spartan

Six Caps is one of the most condensed, tight fonts out there. Combined with League Spartan it makes for a very bold, visionary font pairing. Not for the faint of heart.

#20 Abril Fatface + Glacial Indifference

A classically beautiful font pairing that is inoffensive and pretty, yet interesting. One of those font pairings that just work in most designs. Highly recommended.

List of Other Good Font Pairings in Canva

In addition to the font pairings already suggested, why not try out these font pairings, too? These font pairings go well together:
