What is a Year in Pixel Tracker?

The Year in Pixels tracker was invented by Camille of Passion Carnets (@passioncarnets), a French bullet journalist, in 2015. You can read her full story on the Bullet Journal’s blog.

The concept behind the Year in Pixels is to distill an entire year of daily data—such as moods, weather, habits, or any activity—into a single, color-coded chart. Each day is marked by a pixel (or small square), with colors indicating different moods, activities, or habits. By year’s end, this visual mosaic reveals patterns in your emotional well-being or habit consistency.

Nearly a decade later, this tracker remains immensely popular, inspiring me to create a collection of Year in Pixels trackers to enrich your tracking journey, making it more enjoyable and eliminating the need to draw it yourself.

These two “blank year” trackers offer two styles—Doodle and Bullet Journal—each featuring an empty year field for flexible use. Both designs include spaces for multiple keys and notes, allowing you to customize your tracking experience.
