Why is posting at the right time important? Many TikTok experts believe that the more people engage with your content in the first two hours after your video is posted, the more the video will be shown. For that reason, it is very important that you post at the right time, so that you can get the maximum exposure and engagement from the very beginning.
In this article, I will answer the common question “When is the best time to post on TikTok?”. But before that, let’s first take a look at how often you should post on TikTok.
How Many Times a Day Should I Post on TikTok?
This is the million dollar question, isn’t it? When it comes to consistency on TikTok, experts such as Joseph Todd advice that you should post 2-5 times a day. So, if you can create 5 high quality posts a day, go for that. If you cannot, two posts should do. Several accounts seem to thrive despite posting only a handful posts a week, so if you ever have to choose between quality and quantity, go for quality.
Best Time to Post on TikTok
Imagine creating a video like this one and posting it at the wrong time, causing it to flop. You wouldn’t want that, would you?
So, you just broke a fine guitar…for nothing. Just because you posted the video at the wrong time. How can you avoid this from happening?
Knowing the best time to post on TikTok is tricky to say the least. Without accessing your analytics, nobody can know exactly when is the best time for you to post on TikTok. The best posting times will be different for each user. However, if you upgrade your TikTok account to TikTok Pro (it’s free so why not give it a shot?), you can get access to TikTok Analytics. TikTok Analytics will be your best advisor when it comes to best posting times on the platform. This is the only way to get precise information about which hours are best for you and within which time frame you can get maximum exposure. The bigger your account, more valuable the analytics numbers are. This is Statistics 101: the bigger your sample, the more precise results you get.
Who Is Your Target Audience?
There is another thing you need to keep in mind. TikTok’s Analytics shows you the time when your followers are the most active. So you need to answer yourself this question: who do you want to reach? Do you want to focus on your follower base or is it the new people who you want to reach? If you want to focus on your followers, then it’s easy – just use the data that the analytics show you.
However, if you are interested in people who aren’t following you yet, then you should act a bit differently. Check out the Followers tab in the analytics. Then see what are your top countries, ie. the countries where you have the most followers who seem to enjoy your content the most. For instance, let’s imagine that you are located in the USA but in the stats you see that you have many followers from Australia. What should you do? Simply convert the time zones so that at least some of your content gets posted when Australians are the most active.
